Well done to all of the clubs young athletes who competed, some for the first time, at the Under 12 Superteams and the Under 14 Relays on Sunday. Although no medals were won, there were many fine individual and team performances, with 6 teams in all competing over the course of the weekend.

In conjunction with the junior events, a special mention must go to some of the more experienced athletes at the club. Stpehen Wallace, after a 20 plus year sabbatical from the sport , and in only his second track race back he collected a silver medal in the Scottish Indoor Senior mens (40-45) 400m , only missing out on gold by 0.1 seconds!

Going one better than this was the evergreen Stewart McCrae who shows no signs of letting up and in an extremely busy afternoon collected Gold medals in the 65-70 age group in the 800, 1500 and 3000m events.

WELL DONE to all who competed!

Would all athletes please note that the bus for Saturdays Superteam event at the Kelvin Hall will be leaving from the Muirfield Centre at 0830 hours. It is a long day and we will not be returning until after the final event (relays) which commence at 1600 hrs. All athletes compete in all 4 events so please come prepared for a long day.If you have not already confirmed your attendance please do so asap.

There appears to have been a mix up from the communications that were sent to the Club from North Lanarkshire regarding Cumbernauld High School this Thursday, which has resulted in Training being back on.

See you all on Thursday at the usual time of 7.00pm.

North Lanarkshire Schools Lets Department have just informed us that Cumbernauld High School will not be available to us for Thursday 26th January and Thursday 2nd February as the School is being used by the Head Teacher. The Club will not meet on these two Thursdays but will mee on the Monday.

SAIL Match 3 – Sunday 8th January 2012

I hope you all had a great Christmas and a happy New Year with your Families and Friends !!

As it must seem a long time ago since our last training session, our last Indoor League Match will take place this Sunday, 8th January, at the Kelvin Hall

There have been some minor changes to the team and the final line up can be found here.

The timetable of events will be more or less the same and can be found here.

As per usual the bus will leave the Town Centre South bus stop at 08.30 am returning after the last event at 2.00pm approx. The bus fare will be £2.00.

Please bring still drinks and a packed lunch, Club vest, trainers or running spikes and some warm clothing as the Kelvin Hall can be cold.

If for any reason you cannot make it after confirming attendance please contact Donald Pegrum on 01236 737324 so the bus will not sit and wait for you.

Reminder: No Training this Thursday – 15th December 2011

The Club will not meet on Thursday 15th December as the High School is being used by the Head teacher however we will meet again on Monday 19th December and that will be the last night before the Christmas Holidays.

The first night back after the Christmas Holidays will be Monday 9th January.

Athletes please remember if you are chosen for the 3rd Indoor League Match, which will be on Sunday 8th January, the bus will leave the Town Centre South bus stop at 8.30am as usual.

The Team Sheet will be posted on the Club website within the next week.
