I hope this post finds all our Club Members and their families well.

As Lanarkshire moves into Tier 4, on Thursday, 19th November,  the club received the great news from Culture NL that we are able to continue training at GHS using only the outdoor Track and Field facilities inline with the Level 4 Guidelines as set out by Scottish Athletics 🙂

So what does  “Inline with Level 4 Scottish Athletics Guidelines” Mean?

Training Group Sizes
Age 11 and Under – Maximum Bubble Size 15 – Coach – Athlete Ratio 1:8
Age 12-17 – Maximum Bubble Size 8 – Coach – Athlete Ratio 1:8
Age 18+ – Maximum Bubble Size 8 – Coach – Athlete Ration 1:8

Note: All Club Coaches have confirmed that their training group bubbles have been aligned to the above revised ratios and that all sessions will continue as currently scheduled.

Physical Distancing
Age 17 and under – field of play bubbles permitted during training. Physical Distancing must be observed at all other times
Age 18+ – field of play bubbles suspended. Athletes must allow 2m distance side by side and 5m single file whilst running

Travelling to Training
In line with the Scottish Government, SportScotland, and Scottish Athletics guidance of 20 November 2020, athletes are permitted to travel no more than 5 miles from the boundary of their local council area for training. Athletes who live within the same local council region are permitted to continue to train.

What to do if a Member of Cumbernauld AAC or ANYONE WITHIN THEIR HOUSEHOLD Shows Symptoms of Covid-19

  • If a member of the Club, or anyone within their household has symptoms of Covid-19 (raised temperature, persistent cough, loss of taste or smell) please DO NOT attend training;
  • If a member of the Club, or anyone within their household has been tested for Covid-19 and is awaiting their test result please DO NOT attend training;
  • If a member of the Club tests positive for Covid-19 and has attended a training session in the 7 days prior, please notify your Coach or the Cumbernauld AAC Covid-19 Co-ordinators (andrena.wallace@googlemail.com & sallycondie67@gmail.com)
  • If a member of the Club tests positive for Covid-19 and is contacted by Test & Protect, please inform Test & Protect of Andrena & Sally’s email addresses (Andrena.wallace@googlemail.com & sallycondie67@gmail.com) so that the Club is able to assist Test &Protect with Contact tracing;

THANK YOU!
As we collectively adapt to these new changes over the coming weeks, I would like to take the time to say a BIG thanks to our Club Covid-19 Coordinators, Andrena and Sally who continue to do a great job in guiding us all through this ever moving challenging time and also to all our Club Coaches and Club Officials who have shown great commitment all on a voluntary basis in continuing to keep our Club going and our Athletes involved through creative sessions and virtual events and last but not least Colin Hutchison & Francis Smith at Scottish Athletics for keeping us informed when key changes happen – THANK YOU ALL 🙂
