What has been in the past at Goerbridge traditional Cross Country weather, last Sunday was just like a summers day, which all the Club Athletes appear to enjoy with great performances all round 🙂

Special mention to both Grant McEachern and Craig Sweeney who ran so well in their first Country races for the Club – well done to the pair of you!

Also would like to say a special thanks to both Rob and Elaine for kindly helping with pitching the Club tent as well helping with the Team Management through the day and Ross for warming up the U11/ U13 Athletes before their race.

The complete results for the day can be found here.

Here are some pics of the day:

Both Grant & Calum looking comfortable in the last hill into the finish.

U13 Girls

Great run by Leona finishing in the top 10, with Kerri just behind.

U13 Boys

Great run by all the U13 Boy’s, with them all finishing in the middle of the pack and Max first home for the Club, followed by Luke then Craig.

U15 Boys

Another set of great performances for all of the U15 Boys, who have all had a great start to this Cross Country season.

On the day it was Alasdair who came on top, with an excellent controlled race from start to finish coming in first place, Calum also running a great strong race coming in just behind in 2nd place and to help secure the Gold Team prize, Jacob continuing his great season with a great 6th Place. Close behind with strong performances were Christopher, followed by Callum then Josh – Well Done to you all!

U17 & U20 Woman

In the U17/ U20 Woman races, Lucy, Alicia and Victoria all ran exceptionally well, with Lucy coming in 4th place in the U17 Woman,  with Alica and Victoria picking up Gold & Silver in the U20 Woman’s race 🙂

U17, U20 and Masters Men

Up first was Thomas in the U17 Mens race, which was a close contested race for the top 4 places, as always Thomas ran in his usual great spirited way,  just missing out in 2nd place but clear in 3rd place.

In the Senior race, Cameron and Ross (running in his native Club Colours of Springburn Harriers), both put in fantastic performances for the challenging 10K route.

Ross finished well within the top third of the 85 Athletes that took part with an excellent sub 38 mins run.

Cameron led the race in the initial phase however the Senior Ultra runner who kept with him was just that bit stronger. However he still finished the race in 2nd place overall in an excellent 33.12, whilst also picking up Gold being the first U20.

Well done to all those that ran and thanks to all those helped 🙂
